Beverly J. Watts, President and Founder of BME Consulting, brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career serving Wayne County since 2004. In 2016, she made history as the county’s first female Director of the Department of Public Services, overseeing a $300 million annual budget and managing over 600 employees across six divisions. Her leadership led to the department earning full accreditation from the American Public Works Association, a first for any Michigan county.
A native Detroiter and graduate of Michigan State University, Watts has also completed executive education at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her dedication to public service includes roles as President of the Michigan chapter of COMTO, a member of the Michigan Labor and Economic Opportunity Public Transit Action Team, and an appointee to the Michigan Infrastructure Council, where she helps shape Michigan's infrastructure strategy for the next thirty years. Watts continues to lead initiatives that improve quality of life and drive diversity in industries like classical music and public infrastructure.
